He also serves as executive director for professional development and strategic partnerships at the School. He is the founding president of the International Special Events Society and the founder of the first master’s degree and professional certificate programs in the field of event management. He is the author, co-author or editor of 16 books and hundreds of articles. He serves as the Series Editor for twelve books in the event management field that are published by John Wiley and Sons. His books have been published in several languages. He has produced hundreds of events for luminaries including two U.S. presidents, the opening of the famed Donald Trump Taj Mahal Resort, and delivered speeches on several continents. Our speaker received the first Lifetime Achievement award for service to the industry from the International Special Events Society. The 25,000 readers of Event Solutions Magazine voted for him to receive the Industry Visionary Award for 2000 for his contributions to event management education and research. He was among the first individuals inducted into the Events Industry Hall of Fame in 2002. In 2005, he received the highest award from the Creative Marketing Laboratory of Russia, when he was presented with the prestigious silver medal for lifetime career achievements. In 2006 the Event Leadership Executive Certificate Program, which Dr. Goldblatt founded and directs at Temple University, was named the best certificate program in the world by the International Festivals and Events Association. |
